Together for a strong and innovative Region
How can we strengthen the Upper Lusatia (Oberlausitz)? Which technological and social innovations can liven our economy? How do professionals discover interesting development chances, while simultaneously families can find an attractive living enviroment?
To solve these tasks for the Upper Lusatia, research and learning establishments, as well as companies and associations within the alliance Lausitz – Life & Technology (L&T), have combined their efforts and come together. Our association follows the goal of long term support of innovation, strengthening of the economic force and the regional capacity to develop, with research based innovation projects.
Management of L&T
Our association Lausitz – Life & Technology, is strategically lead as a research and transfer network by a competent management team.
Direct access to leading research establishments in the Upper Lusatia, allows us to network research with the economy and civil society. Out of this over 16 innovation projects have been born. In the areas: connected energy systems through storing technology, Additive Manufacturing (AM) for more efficient production and attractive learning, living and working spaces.
Innovation management
Our region holds diverse and widespread Know-How ressources. We want to help recognise these and bring them together in the already developing innovation clusters.
We are building and expanding our association into a Network full of life. We are coordinating processes, developing communication structures for the association and mediating potential project partnerships, so that we can generate ideas, plan and define new tasks together. We are building the future for the Region, in interdisciplinary exchange, with creativity and extensive know-how.

Our association partners
Our field of impact, the Upper Lusatia, lies in the region where Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland meet. Here, our association connects more than 75 partners. Together, these associations, colleges, research establishments and civil societary organisations, stand for a strong and innovative society.
The Innovation fields and how they interlock
The work of the L&T association is based on our innovation strategy to shape the postive structural transformation in Upper Lusatia.
The work of the association and the 20 research projects focussing on three key aspects of regional development:
Additive Manufacturing for efficient production processes
Interlinked energy systems through energy-storing technologies
Improvement of work-life-conditions and attractive learning environments
All three fields of innovation , show great potential to positively design structural transformation processes. The L&T projects aim to achieve the greatest possible impact on society.
This is why we interlink project approaches with at least one other innovation field. Put simply, here is the example process of our project Compressor Cover & Contour („CO3“):
